RED CARPET FESTARI, FESTIVAL OF FINNISH FILM AND MUSIC
Red Carpet Festari is a prominent Finnish film festival held annually in Hyvinkää, Finland. Founded by actor Antti Luusuaniemi in 2017. Festari is taking place at the end of August and the event celebrates the Finnish film industry, showcasing the best of Finnish cinema and engaging with audiences. Beyond film screenings, the festival offers a diverse program including meet & greets, panel discussions, concerts and Red Carpet Gaala. Red Carpet attracts film enthusiasts from across Finland and beyond, creating a platform for industry professionals to connect with fans of Finnish film and music.
The Festari features a broad selection of films, including documentaries, fiction, and short films, all of which are Finnish-made. Several films are subtitled in English to accommodate international audiences. Film crews attend the screenings, providing an opportunity for viewers to ask questions and hear behind-the-scenes stories, and of course, take photos together.
In addition Red Carpet Festari offers a variety of free, film-related activities for all ages, with a particular emphasis on events and workshops designed for children and young people.

For Filmmaker
Amongst all the entertainment Red Carpet also caters to the professionals of the film industry. Red Carpet Pro seminar day provides a platform for discussion, and workshops for actors. Red Carpet also organizes an annual Gala where prizes are awarded, bringing skilled professionals and significant phenomena from the film industry to people’s attention. The prizes are chosen by a jury of influencers in the film industry.
Red Carpet also provides a platform for future filmmakers. During the school year, Red Carpet cooperates with associations and art schools, organizing several film workshops for children and young people. The results will be seen at Red Carpet in the form of short films as a part of the festival program.
Tähtiraitti - Walk of Fame
Tähtiraitti is Hyvinkää’s very own Walk of Fame where the stars of two selected Finnish actors are unveiled yearly as part of the Red Carpet festivities. Tähtiraitti is located on the pedestrian street between Kauppakeskus Willa (shopping centre Willa) and the Hyvinkää library square.
To date, the actors who have been given their own stars are Kati Outinen, Outi Mäenpää, Krista Kosonen, Laura Birn, Peter Franzén, Seela Sella, Elina Salo, Vesa-Matti Loiri, Esko Salminen and Anneli Sauli
The next actors getting their stars will be present at the unveiling on Red Carpets festival week in 2023. Participation at the event is free of charge. Next year’s schedule will be updated here.
Conserts
After all the film watching, weekend’s concerts offer a fun opportunity to let your hair down. On two consecutive nights, popular Finnish artists take to the stage at Villatehdas’ atmospheric courtyard in central Hyvinkää. Villatehdas itself is an important part of Hyvinkää’s history, having provided a living for many of its citizens for over 100 years, previously as a wool factory and nowadays as a venue for events and conferences.
Notice that the age limit of the concerts is 18.

Get the tickets cheaper by buying them in advance. The number of tickets is limited, so act fast!
You will be allowed in to the festival area only once with your ticket. The VIP tickets can be exchanged to the festival pass and wristband at the accreditation point by the gate.
It is strictly forbidden to bring alcohol, glass bottles, firearms or edged weapons (incl. Swiss Army knives), fireworks or any other dangerous items in to the festival area. It is also forbidden to bring umbrellas, pets or camping stools. There are plenty of benches and other places to sit in the area when you need a moment to rest.
You will be going through a security check when entering the area.
There are plenty of food and drink stalls catering to everyone’s taste.
The bars charge a 2€ deposit that will be refunded to you when you return a can or a bottle to a deposit point.
Professional photographing on SLR cameras without a valid permission is forbidden. However, photographing with phones and digital cameras is allowed. Taking videos without a valid permission is forbidden.
There are official festival photographers taking photos and videos during the festival. The material may be used for marketing and promoting purposes, also on Red Carpet’s social media channels.
Red Carpet organizes transportation to the concerts from several nearby towns with environmentally friendly buses by Hyvinkään liikenne. All their buses run with 100% renewable fuel. Link to buying bus tickets for 2023 concerts will be added here.
A paid bus ticket will be refunded only if the ride is cancelled. If there are under 20 booked passengers on a bus, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the ride. Lippupiste informs the passengers over possible cancellations.
ABOUT HYVINKÄÄ
The central location of Hyvinkää in Southern Finland makes it easily reachable from both Helsinki and Tampere. The train will take you to Hyvinkää from Helsinki in 45 minutes, and from Tampere in 1 h 26 minutes. Trains runs from early morning to late night. Red Carpet recommends public transportation.
The concert area at Villatehdas and most of the other festival venues are within 5 minutes walk from the Hyvinkää railway station. There is also a taxi stop by the station, and several local taxi entrepreneurs who will happily take you to your destination.
Hyvinkää is a very lively town with approximately 47 000 residents. If you are interested in sightseeing, everything is easily reachable by bus or taxi. The Sveitsi region, for example, is famous for its healing natural environment that is great for physical activities. The Kytäjä region with its manor houses is also well worth a visit. The shopping centre Willa, where a part of the festival happenings also take place, is one of the largest shopping centres in Finland, having something for everyone.
